Israeli crimes in Gaza

An international human rights organization has rejected Israel’s claim that its forces are fighting Hamas fighters in Gaza. Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor says nearly all victims of the regime’s fatal attacks are civilians. The monitor said in its statement that Israeli forces killed nearly 350 Gazans in just seven days that ended April 26th. According to Euro-Med, nearly 95 percent of those killed were ordinary people. It said more than half of the Palestinians killed in the one-week period were children. Even most of the adult males killed in the Israeli attacks were working in civilian jobs or independent professions unrelated to any military or organizational activity. The rights group stressed that, in parallel to the unprecedented rise in Gaza’s civilian casualties, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly denies targeting civilians. It called Netanyahu’s lies a blatant attempt to mislead international public opinion and cover up the crimes committed on the ground. The monitor also condemned the international silence on the mass killings of Palestinians by Israel, calling it a moral failure and a serious breach of the legal obligations of states and the international community.

Hezbollah leader speech

The Secretary General of Hezbollah says the resistance movement has fully respected the ceasefire agreement with Israel despite the regime’s frequent violations of the deal. Sheikh Naim Qassem made the remarks in a live televised speech. He said the world witnesses that Lebanon has lived up to the agreement, although the Israeli regime violated the ceasefire more than 3,000 times. He said the United States has been providing the Israeli regime with pretexts for more attacks on the Arab country. The Hezbollah leader called on the Lebanese government to send a letter to the UN, summon the US ambassador, and use every single meeting to talk about the Israeli assaults on Lebanon. Sheikh Qassem noted that the US must understand it can achieve nothing without stability in Lebanon. He also urged the Lebanese people not to lose hope since Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, is caught in a dire situation, as he has shed the blood of many people without achieving any of his objectives.

Yemen retaliatory operations

The United States has lost another multi-million-dollar fighter jet amid Yemen’s retaliatory operations against the American military. The US Navy was quoted by American media as saying that an F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet was lost at sea after it fell overboard from the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier. It said the 60-million-dollar warplane was being towed on board when the incident happened. A US official said the aircraft had sunk along with a tow tractor. Another official said initial reports from the scene indicated that the Truman made a hard turn to evade the Yemeni army’s fire, which contributed to the fighter jet falling overboard. Earlier the same day, the Yemeni army announced that it had launched drone and missile attacks on the aircraft carrier in the Red Sea. This is not the first such incident affecting US aircraft in the Red Sea. Another F/A-18 jet fighter from the Truman was shot down by the USS Gettysburg in the Red Sea in December.
