Israeli forces have killed two Palestinians during separate raids in the northern part of the West Bank, medical sources said, as Israel intensifies its deadly attacks in the occupied territory concurrent with the bloody onslaught against the Gaza Strip.

Martyr Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital in Tulkarm announced in a statement that 21-year-old Youssef Samih Abdel Karim Abdel Dayem, a student at the Faculty of Engineering at Khadoori University and a resident of Tulkarm camp, was fatally shot after Israeli forces stormed Dhanaba neighborhood, east of Tulkarm, on Monday morning and opened fire on locals.

Local sources, requesting anonymity, told the official Palestinian news agency WAFA that Israeli forces raided the area, stationed themselves in the vicinity of al-Safa and al-Marwa Mosque, broke into a number of houses and detained a youth.

The sources said the forces deployed snipers on the roof of one of the high-rise buildings in the neighborhood adjacent to the Tulkarm camp.

They added that the snipers fired indiscriminate shots at locals, injuring Abdel Dayem. They then prevented ambulance crews from reaching the scene, leaving the young Palestinian man to bleed to death.

Separately, 15-year-old Mahmoud Ibrahim Nabrisi, succumbed to his serious wounds after being shot by Israeli forces during a raid on al-Far’a refugee camp, south of Tubas.

Locals told WAFA that Palestinian paramedics transferred Nabrisi to the government hospital in Tubas, where he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

Four other young Palestinians were also injured by Israeli forces’ bullets during the raid on the camp.

Since Israel unleashed a war on the besieged Gaza Strip in early October 2023, casualties have been rising in the West Bank as a result of intensified near-daily Israeli raids into villages and cities in the occupied territories.

At least 533 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank by Israeli forces or extremist Jewish settlers since the war began. According to the UN, 2023 was the deadliest year yet for Palestinians in the West Bank since the United Nations began keeping such records in 2005.

At least 37,084 Palestinians, most of them women and children, have also been killed in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip over the past eight months.
