Gaza public health crisis

Palestinian officials have issued a serious warning about health conditions in the besieged Gaza Strip, saying its inhabitants are prone to contracting various types of water-borne diseases. According to Palestine's Environmental Quality Authority, 66 percent of people in Gaza suffer from cholera, chronic diarrhea, and intestinal diseases due to the lack of drinkable water. It said Israel's relentless strikes have knocked the territory’s water treatment plants out of service. The authority added that the regime’s bombing of sewage lines has led to an environmental catastrophe in Gaza. Meanwhile, the UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Palestine says Israel has added insulin pens for children to the list of prohibited items that are not allowed into Gaza. Jamie McGoldrick said a large number of goods and equipment needed to improve the territory’s sanitation have been also banned by Israel.

Israel genocide case

Hamas resistance movement says it will comply with a push for a ceasefire by the International Court of Justice if the Israeli regime complies with it as well. Hamas spokesman Osama Hamdan made the comments in a presser in Beirut, referring to a potential ICJ ruling in an anti-Israel genocide case filed by south Africa. The ruling is expected to be issued on Friday. Hamdan reiterated Hamas's condition for the release of Israeli captives in Gaza, saying they will be freed only if Israel releases Palestinians held in Israeli jails. He further said the regime must put an end to its 18-year-long siege on Gaza and allow necessary aid for relief and reconstruction. The spokesman called on governments and rights organizations to file lawsuits at the International Criminal Court against the regime and its leaders to pave the way for them to be put to trial as war criminals.

US bases under attack

Iraq's resistance groups have carried out drone strikes on two military bases hosting occupying US forces in the country, amid simmering anti-American sentiments across the region. The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, which is an umbrella for the country’s resistance groups, said the first strike targeted a military base near Erbil airport in the Kurdistan region. The second attack was carried out against the Ain al-Asad base in the western province of Anbar. The Iraqi resistance added that the attacks came in response to the ongoing US-Israeli genocide in Gaza, reaffirming that its operations will continue. Iraq’s resistance groups have conducted attacks against US bases in the country and neighboring Syria during past weeks over Washington’s support for Israel’s onslaught on Gaza.
