Jan. 17: ‘Axis of Resistance’ operations against Israeli occupation

Resistance groups in Palestine and across the region continue their operations against Israel and its Western backers amid the regime's genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, which has claimed the lives of almost 24,000 Palestinians, mostly children and women.

The operations carried out by the Palestinian and regional resistance groups on Wednesday, January 17, are as follows:

Qassam Brigades' operations on Jan. 17:

  • Targeted a Merkava tank and a D9 military bulldozer with “Al-Yassin 105” shells in the Al-Batn Al-Samin area, south of the city of Khan Yunis.
  • Targeted an Israeli infantry force with an anti-personnel missile and engaged in clashes with machine guns in the Al-Batn Al-Samin area, south of the city of Khan Yunis.
  • Targeted an Israeli troop carrier with an “Al-Yassin 105” missile east of Jabalia, northern Gaza Strip.
  • Destroyed 6 Israeli Merkava tanks and a troop carrier, and carried a joint mission with the Quds Brigade, during which they destroyed a bulldozer with an anti-tank device. 
  • Destroyed an Israeli troop carrier with an “Al-Yassin 105” shell in Jabal Al-Rayes, east of the Al-Tuffah neighborhood in Gaza City.
  • Ambushed a special Israeli military unit inside a house in the Karama neighborhood, northwest of Gaza City, and detonated an anti-personnel device there.
  • Targeted an Israeli military tank in Karama neighborhood, northwest of Gaza City, with an “Al-Yassin 105” shell.
  • Targeted an Israeli military force with an anti-personnel shell, causing deaths and injuries, on the outskirts of the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in Gaza City.
  • Killed a regime soldier driving a military vehicle in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City.
  • Targeted 2 Merkava tanks with “Al-Yassin 105” shells in the Ma’an area, southeast of Khan Yunis.
  • Bombed “Liman” barracks of Israeli military in the Western Galilee with a volley of 20 rockets launched from southern Lebanon.
  • Targeted a gathering of Israeli military vehicles and soldiers penetrating the areas of Khan Yunis with mortar shells.

Quds Brigades' operations on Jan. 17:

  • In a joint operation with Al-Qassam Brigades, destroyed an Israeli military bulldozer with an anti-armor device in the Al-Maghazi camp in the central Gaza Strip.
  • Bombed Israeli military concentrations in southwest Gaza with a rocket barrage.
  • Took control of an Israeli spying drone during a reconnaissance mission east of Gaza.
  • Targeted an Israeli military command headquarters with a guided missile south of Khan Yunis.
  • Targeted Israeli military vehicles in the northern Gaza Strip.
  • Shot down an Israeli drone while it was carrying out a spying mission in the Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip.
  • Killed and wounded a number of Israeli soldiers during a series of missions in the Bureij camp, including:
  • Targeted an Israeli military vehicle and a D9 bulldozer with RPG shells east of Bureij.
  • Launched mortar shells at Israeli soldiers south of Bureij camp.
  • Bombed a gathering of Israeli regime soldiers east of Bureij.
  • Targeted Israeli military vehicles and soldiers in Jabal Al-Rayes, east of Jabalia Camp.

Hezbollah's operations on Jan. 17:

Eastern sector:

  • At 14:50, Israeli soldiers were targeted in the vicinity of the Ruwaisat al-Alam site in Shebaa with Burkan missiles.
  • At 15:15, Israeli regime soldiers in the vicinity of the Al-Abad site were targeted with appropriate weapons.
  • At 17:20, the Al-Manara illegal settlement was targeted with appropriate weapons.

Western sector:

  • At 1:00 p.m., Israeli regime soldiers in the vicinity of the Rahib site were targeted with appropriate weapons.
  • At 15:00, Israeli soldiers in Tal Shaar were targeted with missiles.

Yemeni military's operations on Jan. 17:

  • Carried out a targeting operation against the American ship (Genco Picardy) in the Gulf of Aden with a number of appropriate naval missiles, and the hit was accurate and direct.
