Israel attacks hospitals

This is the fortieth day of war on Gaza where more civilians lose their lives in Israeli airstrikes and shelling. At least 28 Palestinians have been killed in the latest Israeli attacks on Khan Yunis, Gaza City and Jabalia. The total death toll in Gaza is now nearing 11,500. Residential areas and hospitals have been the prime target of the Israeli attacks. Among them is Al-Shifa hospital, the largest medical complex in Gaza. Israeli forces have raided the hospital, with tanks entering the complex where thousands of people, including the injured and displaced have taken shelter. Israel says it is carrying out what it calls a precise and targeted operation in a specified area of Shifa Hospital. The regime says its operation is against Hamas, arguing that the resistance movement has a command center there. Israel has reportedly asked those sheltering at the hospital to evacuate.

'Netanyahu must go'

Domestic pressure is mounting on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with hundreds of protesters converging on occupied Al-Quds to demand his resignation over the Gaza bloodshed. The protesters gathered outside the Israeli Knesset, with some holding banners reading 'Bibi has blood on his hand'. They also called on the authorities to work for the release of captives held by the Palestinian resistance movement in Gaza. The protesters blamed Netanyahu for Israel’s defeat following last month’s unprecedented operation by Hamas, saying he is not fit for office. Similar rallies were held this month in al-Quds and Tel Aviv by families of those who were captured during the operation al-Aqsa Flood. They demanded that the regime should prioritize the lives of captives and facilitate their immediate release.

'Biden complicit in Israeli crimes'

US President Joe Biden is facing scathing criticism from his own government employees over his support for Israel’s genocidal war on the besieged Gaza Strip. In yet another leaked memo obtained by an American news website, Axios, officials accuse Biden of spreading misinformation on the Israeli war. The five-page memo, signed by 100 State Department and US-AID employees, says Israel is committing war crimes and that Biden’s support of Israel has made him complicit in genocide in Gaza. It also recommended that the government should advocate for the release of Israeli captives as well as thousands of Palestinians being illegally held in Israeli jails. Just days ago, a similar leaked memo from the State Department showed a loss of confidence among diplomats in Biden’s approach and handling of the Gaza war. The document demanded a ceasefire in Gaza and asked the administration to balance its private and public messaging toward Israel.
