Israel onslaught on Gaza

Israel pushes ahead with its genocidal war against the Gaza Strip for the 34th day, killing women and children and reducing the fully blockaded territory to rubble. In the latest development, the Palestinian Interior Ministry said nearly 20 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike near a hospital in the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza. Civilian casualties have been reported in Israeli strikes elsewhere across the territory. Meanwhile, the Palestinian Energy Authority said 70 percent of Gaza’s power grid has been destroyed in Israel’s attacks. It added that the electricity network has suffered losses exceeding 80 million dollars. According to Gaza’s government media office, 70 percent of the territory’s population has been displaced so far. The Israeli military says 50-thousands Palestinians have fled the northern part of Gaza, heading for the south.

Operation al-Aqsa flood

The armed wing of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas says it has inflicted heavy losses on Israeli forces since they began their ground operation in the besieged Gaza Strip. The spokesman for Al-Qassam Brigades said resistance fighters have destroyed at least 136 Israeli tanks and armored vehicles. Abu Ubaida added that the brigades continue to fight the Israeli aggression, including in the northwest and south of Gaza City, and in the north of the Gaza Strip. The spokesman noted that the latest achievements are only a small fraction of what resistance fighters have done to Israeli forces. Abu Ubaida also touched upon the issue of Israeli captives in the Gaza Strip. He said the only solution to that issue is a prisoner exchange deal between the two sides.

Yemen downs US drone

Yemeni armed forces say they have shot down an American military drone over the country’s territorial waters. Yemen’s armed forces said in a statement that the M-Q-9 drone was downed with a surface-to-air missile. The statement added that the drone was conducting hostile activities in Yemen’s airspace within the framework of US military support for Israel. A senior US defense official has confirmed the downing of M-Q-9 Reaper drone by Yemeni forces. Meanwhile, the spokesman for Yemen’s Ansarullah movement said downing of the US drone proved Yemeni armed forces’ readiness to counter any violation of the country’s national sovereignty. Muhammad Abdel Salam added that Yemeni forces will continue their operations in support of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, until Israel’s bloody onslaught on the territory stops. Yemeni army has already launched major drone and missile attacks against targets deep within Israel in support of Gaza.
