At least three young Palestinian men have been fatally shot as the Israeli army carried out a number of overnight raids in the occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian officials.

The official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that Israeli military forces stormed the Askar refugee camp, located on the outskirts of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, early on Sunday morning, triggering fierce confrontations with local residents.

A Palestinian protester, identified as 25-year-old Naeem Mahmoud Farran, sustained critical gunshot wounds to the chest during the clashes, while ten others were injured.

Farran later succumbed to his severe gunshot wounds at a nearby hospital.

Palestinian medical sources also said a young Palestinian man was shot dead and eleven others sustained injuries last night, when Israeli soldiers raided the town of Beit Rima in the north-central West Bank.

The incursion led to skirmishes between locals and Israeli soldiers, who fired live bullets to disperse the protesting crowd and clear their way into the town.

The Yasser Arafat Hospital in the nearby city of Salfit later confirmed the death of 30-year-old Nasser Abdel Latif Barghouti.

Another 11 Palestinians were struck by bullets in various parts of their bodies.

Additionally, 32-year-old Rammah Jalal al-Din Qutaishat was fatally shot and seven others sustained injuries last night, when Israeli forces stormed the town of Tammun, situated five kilometers south of Tubas in the northeastern West Bank.

Local sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Israeli forces rolled into the town onboard 20 military vehicles and an accompanying bulldozer.

The Israeli raid provoked intense confrontations with local residents.

According to medical sources, five young men were among those struck by live ammunition. They were immediately transferred to the hospital for medical treatment.

At least three Palestinians, including a woman identified as Omaima at-Tubasi, were arrested by Israeli troops during the raid.

The West Bank has emerged as another front in Israel’s war in Gaza.

Israel has been engaged in a ferocious war on Gaza since October 7, when Hamas and its fellow Gaza-based resistance movement, the Islamic Jihad, launched their biggest operation against the occupiers in years. The surprise Operation al-Aqsa Storm came in response to the regime’s intensified crimes against the Palestinian people.

The death toll since the start of the Israeli carnage has surpassed 8,000 with upwards of 20,500 Palestinians wounded. A staggering 70 percent of casualties in Gaza are children, women, and the elderly.

The ongoing Israeli offensive has pushed the Gaza Strip to the brink of a humanitarian catastrophe, with hundreds of thousands of Palestinian civilians enduring immense suffering and loss.

At least 114 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank over the same period, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
