Iran-Lebanon ties
Iran’s foreign minister has warned against any interference in Lebanon’s internal affairs, saying it will only make matters worse in the country. Amir-Abdollahian also said Tehran is ready to send technical and engineering teams to Lebanon to build power plants and ease the electricity crisis there. During his visit to Lebanon, Iran’s top diplomat also addressed a meeting of Palestinian resistance leaders. Amir-Abdollahian said the Israeli regime talks about the assassination of Palestinian resistance leaders because it feels defeated on the battlefield. He also held a trilateral meeting with the Islamic Jihad movement leader and the deputy head of the political office of Hamas. In the meeting, Amir-Abdollahian reiterated Tehran’s support for the Palestinian cause, saying Palestine’s liberation is the central plank of Tehran’s foreign policy. Amir-Abdollahian also met with the Hezbollah chief, where Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah said resistance in Lebanon and Palestine is the strongest it has ever been and will respond to any miscalculation by the Israeli regime.
Israel kills Palestinian teacher
In fresh attacks across the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces have killed at least one Palestinian and injured several others. The victim was a teacher and was shot on the way home in a town near Tubas. The regime’s troops also raided the cities of Nablus, Ramallah, Jenin and al-Khalil.
Russia-Ukraine war
Ukraine says the recent drone attack on a Russian airport was conducted from inside Russia. Ukraine's military intelligence chief said the Tuesday attack on Pskov airport destroyed two transport planes and seriously damaged two others. He said the aircraft were used to transport troops and cargo. Russia has confirmed that four planes were damaged. Ukraine has vowed to return the conflict to Russia and in recent weeks, it has increased drone attacks on Russian territory, including the capital, Moscow. Russia has been responding with its own drone strikes, targeting the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, among other places.
