Russia Wagner revolt

Russia says its intelligence services are investigating whether Western spy agencies played a role in the aborted armed mutiny in the country. The Russian foreign minister says the US ambassador to Moscow gave signals that Washington was not involved in the revolt, and it was Russia’s internal affair. Sergei Lavrov also said the US envoy hoped for the safety of Russia's nuclear arsenal. On Saturday, Russia’s private military contractor, Wagner Group, launched a rebellion, after a long-running dispute with the Defense Ministry over the war in Ukraine. The revolt was called off in less than 24 hours following a Belarusian-brokered agreement between Wagner and Moscow. On Monday, Russian television showed Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu visiting troops in his first public appearance since the brief rebellion.

Israeli drone downed

Lebanon's Hezbollah movement says it has downed an Israeli drone in the southern part of the Arab country, near Israel. The resistance movement says it shot down the unmanned aircraft that entered the Lebanese airspace near Zibqin. The Israeli military has confirmed that one of its drones fell in Lebanese territory during routine activity. The regime said there’s no risk of a breach of information. Israeli warplanes and drones regularly violate Lebanon's airspace. This is not the first time Hezbollah downs Israeli drones. In 2021, Hezbollah shot down an Israeli drone in southern Lebanon that Israel said again fell during routine activity.
