Another scene of large-scale destruction in Syria, this time created by Israel. Israeli fighter jets attacked multiple residential targets in Damascus, killing at least 5 people and injuring 15 others, with the majority being civilians.

The aggression caused significant damage to private property in the heavily-populated Kafarsouseh quarter in Damascus. Apartments’ balconies and walls collapsed and nearby cars were affected. Syria’s ancient citadel in old Damascus was also hit. Analysts say Israel’s intention behind these attacks is to keep Syria in a state of instability.

Syria’s foreign ministry sent a letter to the UN saying the strikes are part of Israel’s systematic aggression against civilians, urging punishment for the crimes committed by the regime. The ministry called for necessary measures to end such acts of aggression as well as a clear condemnation from the UN Security Council.

One Shock after another. This is how Syrians live every day, not knowing whether they’ll be waking up to an earthquake, act of aggression or a terrorist attack. All they ask is for the international community to wake up and help ease their unprecedented plight.
