The Palestinian Hamas resistance movement has stressed that a United States' plot against the resistance front to crush the third Intifada (uprising) against Israel will fail, saying Washington cannot pull the plug on Palestinians’ legitimate struggle across the occupied territories.

Hamas spokesman Abdel Latif al-Qanou made the remarks in a statement, slamming the US administration's plot to prevent a third intifada as the situation is escalating in the occupied West Bank amid rise in Israeli aggression and crimes.

The so-called "security plan" was drafted by US security coordinator Lieutenant General Michael Fenzel claiming that Palestinian Authority’s suspension of security coordination with Tel Aviv is a key reason for the ongoing escalation in the occupied territories.

The decision to suspend the security coordination was made by Palestinian Authority headed by Mahmoud Abbas after one of the deadliest Israeli raids in the flashpoint city of Jenin.

“The Intifada and Palestinians revolution against the Zionist regime will continue unabated in the occupied Palestinian territories, and Palestinians will keep on defending their lands and sanctities,” Qanou said.

The Hamas spokesman also said that Palestinians reserve the right to use any form of resistance to confront Israel and the crimes of the regime’s incumbent far-right cabinet led by prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The US will never manage to deal a blow to the Axis of Resistance, and the plans devised by the White House and being pushed by Fenzel are a non-starter, he warned.

Qanou further said that Fenzel will not be able to kill off the rising spirit of resistance across the West Bank and eradicate the resistance front, stating that such plans are self-defeating.

Hamas spokesman for the occupied city of al-Quds, Mohammad Hamadeh, also said that “the spirit of Intifada” resides in the hearts and minds of steadfast people of the West Bank and al-Quds and its flame will die only if the holy city of al-Quds and the al-Aqsa Mosque are fully liberated, and the Israeli regime is annihilated.

Israeli forces launch raids on cities across the occupied West Bank almost on a daily basis under the pretext of detaining what the regime calls “wanted” Palestinians. The raids usually lead to deadly attack against residents.

Over the past months, Israel has ramped up attacks on Palestinian towns and cities throughout the occupied territories. As a result of these attacks, dozens of Palestinians have lost their lives and many others have been arrested.

On January 26 the Israeli forces raided the city of Jenin and its neighboring refugee camp in the north of the occupied West Bank, killing ten Palestinians in one of the deadliest raids in years.

The United Nations marked 2022 as the deadliest year for Palestinians in the West Bank in 16 years.

Israeli forces killed at least 171 Palestinians in the West Bank and occupied East al-Quds last year, including more than 30 children. At least 9,000 others were also injured.
