Palestine can never be eliminated; decay lies in Israel's nature: Iran
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman has censured Israel’s newly-appointed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for repeating baseless allegations against Tehran, saying decay lies in the essence and nature of the Zionist regime.
“The Zionist regime’s same old prime minister who is known to all seeks to fabricate an identity for himself and the illegitimate regime of Israel by repeating his bogus claims against Iran,” Nasser Kan’ani said in a post on his Twitter account on Friday.
He said the Tel Aviv regime has been struggling for more than 70 years to exit its identity crisis, which he said has been mixed with genocide, plunder, forced displacement and scores of other inhumane moves.
This is an interpretation of the wrong policies and measures of Britain, the US and some European countries in supporting the illegitimate entity, the Iranian spokesperson added.
“Palestine is not destroyable and decay lies in the essence and nature of the Zionist regime,” Kan’ani said.
Addressing his first cabinet meeting, Netanyahu outlined three big missions for his coalition, the first of which was stopping Iran’s nuclear program.
In an earlier interview with Saudi-owned al-Arabiya TV, Netanyahu, who was prime minister between 1996 and 1999, and then between 2009 and 2021, reiterated his long-standing opposition to the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
He claimed that the JCPOA is a “horrible agreement because it allowed Iran basically with international approval, to develop a nuclear and basically an atomic arsenal paved with gold, with hundreds of billions of dollars of sanction relief.”
Netanyahu’s cabinet also promised to expand illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank and pursue other anti-Palestinian policies.
