US using ASEAN to counter China

The ASEAN summit has taken place, and the US presented a strategic partnership agreement to those countries. Will it be enough to sway those countries into its countries?

Or will it face a resounding defeat when it comes to Chinese influence and trade? When it comes to the ASEAN countries, the US and China is vying for influence.

The question is: who is in the lead? We are argue that there isn’t even a competition, since China has beaten US by far. First, the trade volume between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has skyrocketed 85 times over the past three decades.

Over the past 30 years, the business communities of China and ASEAN have jointly promoted the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, participated in the Belt and Road Initiative, and supported the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) negotiations, making important contributions to the continuous development of China-ASEAN economic and trade cooperation.
