Robert Lewandowski missed a penalty, as Poland and Mexico played out a goalless draw in their Group C.
The 34-year-old was denied by Mexico’s 37-year-old captain Guillermo Ochoa just shy of the hour-mark, and the two sides never came close to breaking the deadlock until the end.
The result means Saudi Arabia ended the day on top of the group with three points. Mexico are back in action on Saturday, when they play Argentina, the same day Poland play Saudi Arabia.
