In show of solidarity with Nablus Lion’s Den, Boston Mapping Project says stands with resistance in Palestine

The mapping project expresses solidarity with the Nablus Lion’s Den resistance group in the West Bank.

The Boston Mapping Project says it stands with the resistance in Palestine, in an expression of solidarity with the Nablus Lion’s Den in the occupied West Bank.

In a statement issued on its Twitter account, the Mapping Project hailed the Lions’ Den and expressed its opposition to “Zionist and comprador attempts to quell the growing popular resistance.”

Furthermore, the Mapping Project mourned the six Palestinian martyrs who were killed by Israeli occupation soldiers earlier last week, highlighting that it extends its support “to the Palestinian people who continue to resist colonialism today.”

Last week, Wadi al-Houh, 31, Hamdi Sharaf, 35, Ali Antar, 26, Hamdi Qayyim, 30, and Mishaal Zahi Baghdadi, 27, were all killed in the Israeli violence while another 20 people were injured.

Meanwhile, Qusai Tamimi, 19, was also killed by soldiers in Nabi Saleh village, north of Ramallah, during clashes that erupted to protest the army assault on Nablus. He was laid to rest in his village.

Moreover, the statement went on to say, “We recognize the structural systems of oppression that attack the resisting Palestinian people, whether they be in the occupied homeland or exiled in diaspora,” adding, “We believe that resistance to Zionism outside Palestine must be aligned with resistance on the ground, as it is the entities in the countries that diaspora have been exiled to that are complicit in and that impose a genocidal war on the Palestinian people.”

The project concluded its statement by saying “Glory to the martyrs.”

The Mapping Project, unveiled earlier in June 2022, identifies policing institutions, universities, weapons manufacturers, and Zionist lobby groups in the New England region, the United States, that work in tandem to fortify structures of oppression and occupation in Palestine and across the world.

The hallmark of the project that is creating ripples is an interactive map that shows the physical locations of pro-Zionist groups in the Massachusetts area, sparking fears and concerns among pro-Israel lobbyists.

According to key members of the project, the idea is to build a knowledge base of institutions, corporations, and other entities that contribute to the colonization of Palestine, US imperialism, policing displacement, and other forms of oppression.
