UK Prime Minister Truss savaged in newspaper headlines

Embattled British Prime Minister Liz Truss was on Saturday (October 15) savaged in the UK press, as the country's newspapers openly questioned how long she would last in power.

Truss, who was only appointed prime minister in September, was forced to sack her finance minister on Friday (October 14) following two weeks of intense market turmoil over government plans to cut taxes and borrow more.

The Daily Star tabloid likened Truss political life expectancy to that of a Romaine lettuce, roughly one week. How long can Liz romaine's creamed its headline.
