Severe mudslide leads to road closure in Oak Glen, California

Reports say severe mudslides on Monday caused damage to homes and prompted road closures in Oak Glen, California, after officials warned of flash floods and mudslides due to the remnants of Tropical Storm Kay.

Eyewitness video obtained by Reuters showed a large mudflow on Oak Glen Road. The footage saw a man narrowly escape a second mudslide as it happened.

The San Diego National Weather Service had issued a flash flood warning on Monday effective through 9 p.m. (0400 GMT) covering the areas of San Bernardino, where Oak Glen county is located, Colton, Highland and higher elevations in the mountains.
