Industrial parks hold the beating pulse of production in the country. They drive commerce and business for greater economic stability among global and domestic participants. Industrial zones are viewed as an effective way of increasing synergies between industrial activities through sharing resources. Each year thousands of tonnes of products are produced at industrial parks and distributed to national and even international markets.

Industrial zones are ideal catalysts for industrialization and economic development. They provide the infrastructure necessary for small and medium-sized enterprises to grow. Going off of figures from the Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade, the number of industrial parks has increased by over 270 fold since the Islamic revolution in 1979. Presently there are over one thousand industrial parks and zones scattered across the country and over 830 of this total has been handed over to industrial units.
