Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian’s trip to Mali has ended and he is now in Tanzania as part of his tour of the continent.

Amir-Abdollahian and his Malian counterpart ,Abdoulaye Diop, hailed their meeting as constructive, hoping that their negotiations would help develop bonds of friendship between the two nations.

The trip to Mali marked Amir Abdollahian’s first visit to an African nation during his time in office as Iran’s foreign minister. He then departed Bamako for his next destination, Dar es Salam. Tanzania’s largest city, an industrial hub which is home to the country’s main port.

Upon arrival at Dar es Salam’s international airport, Tanzanian foreign minister Liberata MulaMula warmly welcomed his Iranian counterpart.

Amir-Abdollahian, for his part, thanked his counterpart for hosting the top diplomat and his accompanying delegation as well as governmental and private sector representatives.

There are many opportunities for developing Iran-Tanzania relations, particularly in the fields of mining and energy. Iran's top diplomat will take part in a business forum and meet with the country's top officials during his stay to explore potential for boosting bilateral cooperation.
