Household appliances are an integral part of our modern daily life. Nearly all households have some sort of appliance meant to bring ease and comfort to everyday domestic tasks.
According to Iran's Home Appliances manufacturers Union some 15 million household appliances were produced in the country last year. Thats far beyond the original production target of 12 million units set by the government.
Meanwhile, Iran exports many of these products to neighboring regions, Asia, and Africa. Last year the total value of exports was over $300 million, according to Iran's Trade Promotion Organization.
Furthermore, Iran domestically produces a lot of raw materials needed in this sector which spares local manufacturers from spending millions on imports.
Whats more, domestically supplying raw materials to the home appliance industry has helped it blossom. Two of the biggest raw material suppliers to are the steel and petrochemical sectors.
