Hezbollah warning moves maritime talks forward

Lebanon’s leaders have once more met with the US energy envoy who is in Beirut for talks. President Michel Aoun, Prime Minister-designate Najib Mikati and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri have reportedly given the envoy a unified Lebanese proposal which the envoy will be taking to the Israeli side for a response.
Amos Hochstein told reporters after the meeting that he was optimistic that a demarcation agreement will be reached in the coming weeks.
This comes one day after Hezbollah’s Resistance Movement released footage of gas barges in the Karish field, their coordinates, and a surface-to-sea missile, warning the Israelis that wasting time is not beneficial.
Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah also repeated that all Hezbollah wants in this file is to help Lebanon and give the state elements of strength in the negotiations.
Sayyed Nasrallah said in light of the outcome, Hezbollah will decide how to act in the coming period.
Lebanon's president has stressed that he will not be lenient when it comes to the country's right to its natural resources. This statement is backed by what seems to be a new strategy by the resistance which could give Lebanon the upper hand in the maritime talks.
