France: Firefighters battle difficult-to-control fire
Firefighters are working to put out a blaze that has already consumed at least 800 hectares of forest in Gironde, France, and led to the evacuation of 150 people.
Another fire is affecting the region at the same time, with a total of at least 1,000 hectares burnt. "It's a fire that is progressing rapidly, the conditions for intervention are complicated," said Vincent Ferrier, sub-prefect of Langon.
