Israel's Al-Aqsa attacks

Tensions continue to simmer in occupied Jerusalem Al-Quds where Israeli forces once again attacked Palestinian worshipers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. At least 43 Palestinians are reportedly injured. Israeli forces made arrests too. Palestinian resistance movement Hamas reacted strongly to the latest attack on the holy Muslim site. Tensions at the holy site sparked last Friday when Israeli forces attacked Palestinian worshipers, injuring scores of them. The aggression escalated during the fasting month of Ramadan.

Palestinian resistance

The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas says it’s closely monitoring the situation in the occupied territories and is ready to respond to Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people. Hamas has also called on the international community to restrain the occupying Israeli regime and stop its aggression against Al-Aqsa.

Refugee evictions

Germany has reportedly asked hundreds of Afghan refugees to make room for Ukrainians fleeing the conflict back home. A US media report said the government in Berlin is asking Afghan refugees to leave their accommodations since Ukrainians need a roof over their heads. Afghan refugees were quoted as saying that social workers came with eviction notices, giving them 24 hours to clear out their houses. The Berlin Refugee Council has expressed concern over the government’s biased treatment of refugees in the past few months. Social workers have also voiced frustration over the treatment of Afghans as well as other West Asian and North African refugees in Germany. In 2021, some 12,000 Afghans arrived in Germany after the Taliban’s takeover.
