US Iran oil 'theft' failure

Iran has released footage that shows the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps is foiling a recent US attempt to steal a shipment of Iranian oil in the Sea of Oman. The IRGC carried out a heliborne operation and secured the tanker carrying oil. Naval forces then proceeded to steer the shipment to Iran’s territorial waters and the vessel was later docked in Bandar Abbas port on October the 25th. American forces tried to prevent the tanker’s retrieval, using helicopters and warships, but they were unsuccessful. Iran’s oil minister, Javad Owji, has thanked the IRGC for securing the Iranian shipment. He said the incident will strengthen the Iranian government's resolve to overcome enemy restrictions.

Climate conference row

China and Russia have strongly rejected US President Joe Biden’s criticism about their leaders’ failure to attend the climate change summit in Glasgow. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the absence of President Vladimir Putin does not mean Moscow is giving less importance to the summit. He said his country is serious about climate change and is well aware of its impacts. Peskov added, Russia is facing more serious climate challenges than other countries and that Moscow has taken a responsible stance on the issue with long-term plans. Meanwhile, China also hit back at Biden’s criticism, saying what is needed to deal with climate change is actions and not words.
