UN urged to halt Israeli attacks
Damascus has called on the United Nations to condemn the Israeli regime’s attacks on Syrian territory. The Syrian Foreign Ministry made the call in letters addressed to the UN Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council. It urged the international bodies to assume their responsibilities to hold Israel accountable and prevent the repetition of such attacks. The plea came a day after Syrian air defenses responded to an Israeli airstrike near the capital, Damascus. The regime regularly targets positions inside Syria, especially those of the resistance forces who have played a key role in fighting foreign-backed terrorism.
