Youm-e-Hussain conference held in Kashmir

Muslim scholars from across the Indian-controlled Kashmir have come together in a conference to discuss the sacrifices of Prophet Muhammad’s grandson Imam Hussein and its significance for Islam.
This is one of the events organized across Kashmir valley every year during the Muslim calendar month of Muharram, to discuss the significance of Imam Hussain’s sacrifices to uphold the Islamic teachings, truth, and justice.
The event brings together more than 100 Islamic scholars from different parts of Kashmir. The scholars urged the youth to go deep into the pages of Islamic history to understand the sacrifices Imam Hussain made.
The Islamic scholars also reminded people of plots, being hatched by enemies of Islam, and urged Muslims to stay united.
Religious scholars say the battle of Karbala was a defining moment in the history of Islam that continues to inspire people regardless of their religious belief. And the real tribute to the martyrs of Karbala would be to follow their path in letter and spirit.
