Tehran has hosted a meeting to commemorate the International Quds Day, which falls on May 7 this year.

During the event, which was attended by representatives of Palestinian resistance groups in Tehran, delegations discussed different aspects of the plight of the Palestinians and the ways for the Islamic world to stand united in the face of the Israeli atrocities in the occupied territories.

According to the participants at the meeting, Palestinian resistance groups all share the same viewpoint on the right to self-determination and the aspirations of the Palestinian people.

This year like last year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic Iran will not hold rallies to mark the International Quds Day, but instead by holding different meetings and conferences under strict health protocols, it will commemorate the day and remind the world of the plight of the Palestinians.

The Quds Day is one of the most significant strategies of late Imam Khomeini, who designated the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as the International Quds Day back in 1979.

The day is considered an opportunity to reflect the voice of the voiceless Palestinians, who are living under the oppression of the Zionist regime.

This year’s Quds Day is of very high significance. According to pro-Palestine activists at a time when the world media outlets are covering the Covid-19 pandemic, the plight of the Palestinians should not be forgotten.
