English Premier League: Manchester United 2-1 Brighton

Manchester United have earned a 2-1 comeback win over lowly Brighton at Old Trafford to strengthen their grip on 2nd place in the Premier League.

The Red Devils conceded the first goal after 13 minutes when Danny Welbeck nodded his point-blank header into the feet of Dean Henderson, before heading in the rebound against his former club.

However, Marcus Rashford pulled the hosts level after the hour-mark, rolling an excellent shot into the corner from a lay-off by Bruno Fernandes.

Then, with eight minutes remaining, teenager Mason Greenwood scored the winner by steering Paul Pogba's scuffed volley into the net with a smart diving header.

With the win, Man United are now four points clear of third-placed Leicester, yet 14 behind leaders Manchester City, whereas Brighton remain 16th, six points above the drop zone.
