Second-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas has reached his first quarter-final at the Miami Open, after taking down Lorenzo Sonego of Italy 6-2, 7-6.
After making a fast start with two breaks of serve in the opening set, Tsitsipas found himself in a battle, as Sonego raised his level in the second set, but to no avail, as the Greek world no.5 outlasted the Italian in the tie-break, to reach his 7th different ATP Masters 1000 quarter-final.
He will next meet Hubert Hurkacz, after the Pole edged out Milos Raonic in a nail-biting 3-set battle.
