Miami Open: Auger Aliassime moves into third round

Over tennis news, Daniil Medvedev has cruised into the 3rd round of the Miami Open with a straight sets victory over Lu Yen-Hsun of Taiwan.

The top-seeded Russian made quick work of his opponent, downing Yen-Hsun 6-2 and 6-2 in just 56 minutes. Medvedev fired 9 aces and converted 5 of 8 break point opportunities en route to victory. Next up, he will face Alexei Popyrin of Australia, who defeated America's Reilly Opelka 6-4 and 6-2.

That's while, Felix Auger Aliassime of Canada also advanced to the 3rd round after overcoming Pierre-Hugues Herbert 6-4 and 6-4. The Canadian took an early lead in both sets, but lost the early advantage as the 2 players split the first 8 games. Auger Aliassime then broke the Frenchman at 5-4 in each set before securing his spot in the next round, where he will face either John Isner or Mackenzie McDonald.

Meanwhile, Cameron Norrie had to fight back against Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov to book his spot in the 3rd round of the tournament. The Brit was 5-3 down in the first set, but won 4 straight games to claim it at 7-5. Norrie posted another 7-5 win in the 2nd set to take the victory in nearly 2 hours. He will next face Taylor Fritz of the USA.
