Pelicans overcome Lakers 128-111

In the NBA, the short-handed Los Angeles Lakers have suffered a 128-111 defeat at the hands of the New Orleans Pelicans.

Los Angeles who were playing their second consecutive game without LeBron James struggled from the opening tip to the final buzzer. The Lakers were 13 points behind after 2 quarters of play and saw the gap widened to 26 at the end of the 3rd.

They upped their game in 4th to claim it 35-26 but they could not avoid the defeat. Brandon Ingram scored 36 points for the Pelicans who end a seven-game losing streak against L.A.

Elsewhere, the Denver Nuggets defeated the Magic 110-99 to extend their winning streak to 9 games against Orlando. Nikola Jokic had a triple double for Denver with 28 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists.

On the other side Evan Fournier scored 31 points for the Magic, who have dropped 11 of their last 12 games. Next up, Orlando host the Phoenix Suns while the Nuggets play at the Toronto Raptors. Meanwhile in the other games on Tuesday night, the Knicks, the Suns, the Nets and the Sixers outperformed their opponents.
