‘India silencing Kashmiris by instilling atmosphere of fear’

India claims violence has dropped significantly in Kashmir since New Delhi stripped the region of its special status in 2019.

However, local politicians accuse the Indian government of silencing Kashmiri people by instilling an atmosphere of fear. The questions is, who is telling the truth?

A lot has changed since India ended Kashmir’s special treatment in August 2019. The region is now open to investors and non-locals who want to live there. Kashmir is now also open to workers from other parts of India. None of this was possible before New Delhi ended Kashmir’s autonomy.
