Northern Ireland's Brexit backlash

The European Union has not accepted most of Britain's demands for a smoother post-Brexit trade with Northern Ireland.

The bloc refused the UK's call to extend a grace period for checks on goods, especially food and health items moving through Irish borders. However, the European Commission says it is examining possible amendments for more flexibility on steel imports from Britain to Northern Ireland. The Debate's guests exchange views on this issue.
