China displays artefacts of Moon mission, publishes guidelines on lunar samples
China displays artefacts from an unmanned Chinese spacecraft carrying rocks and soil from the Moon, which returned safely to Earth early Thursday, including the reentry module of the Chang'e-5 spacecraft.
At a press conference at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, China announced the publication of its "Procedures for Requesting Lunar Samples." The guidelines govern how the lunar samples will be used, preserved, distributed and returned, as well as the release of information and management of findings from research.
They also state that China's management and use of lunar samples will follow international conventions it has ratified and participated in.
Norbert Paluch, Space Counselor of French Embassy to China says France will apply for the access to the samples. China says it encourages joint international research in space science based on lunar samples.
