Iran’s president says the American society is now faced with a huge rift ahead of a transition of power in the country while the Iranian nation celebrates the “disgraceful” end of President Donald Trump’s era.

“On the same day that the Iranian people feel victorious against this pressure and terrorism, the American people witness great failure in their social and political lives and a huge rift inside the US,” President Rouhani said in a Wednesday speech.

President Rouhani said the world is witnessing an “unprecedented phenomenon” of the fall of an “autocrat” in the US.

“The disgraceful and scandalous end of the US administration … indicates that bullying, racism, and breaking the law will not come to a good end,” he added.

Rouhani said these days are not marking the end of an administration, but the failure of a policy, namely the “maximum pressure” policy against the great nation of Iran.

“Today is the day of the failure of the economic terrorism policy, through which they sought to disrupt people’s lives. Today, at the end of these three years of war, violence, and acts of terrorism…we are witnessing progress and stability in the country’s economy despite all the pressures,” Rouhani said.

The president said the growing trend of the country’s exports proves the fact that not only has the US pressure policy totally failed, but its mastermind are falling and their political life has come to an end.

“A president who lacked political understanding took the helm of a country, and was accompanied by a stupid foreign minister and an ignorant and radical national security advisor. He handled everything with his gambling and business-oriented mind, and we finally saw how his term ended,” Rouhani said.

“No one could believe this law-breaker [Trump] would order riot against his own nation, his own security, and the country’s legislature, and provoke people against the very democracy they believe in,” he added.

Five people were killed last Wednesday after supporters of President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol building to protest the ceremonial counting of the electoral votes that will confirm President-elect Joe Biden’s victory.

The pro-Trump protesters clashed with police officers and got to the Capitol building on Wednesday afternoon, prompting an evacuation of the House floor by police. Later, Mayor Muriel E. Bowser of Washington imposed a citywide curfew from 6 p.m. on Wednesday until 6 a.m. on Thursday.
