Vissel Kobe of Japan, have advanced to the quarterfinals of the AFC Champions League, after beating Shanghai SIPG 2-0 in Doha.
The Japanese outfit got on the score-sheet after former Barcelona midfielder, Andres Iniesta, sent a low shot under the Shanghai keeper in the 31st minute.
Kobe doubled the lead 5 minutes after the break, when Daigo Nishi tucked the ball home from close range. This is the 4th time in a row that Shanghai has been knocked out of the competition by a Japanese side. But for Kobe, their Maiden Campaign continues with a quarterfinal encounter against Korea’s Suwon Samsung Bluewings in 3 days’ time.
