Number of Americans open to another COVID-19 lockdown falls off: Poll

The number of American citizens open to another COVID-19 lockdown has declined in comparison to the spring, according to a new poll.

Nearly half of the participants, 49 percent, in a Gallup poll released on Wednesday have announced that they would stay at home should the authorities order another lockdown due to the pandemic.

The number has dwindled compared to the similar polls carried out throughout the spring, when the majority of the people, 67 percent, declared they would comply.

Republicans consist the majority of those who rejected the idea of another lockdown. While 74 percent said in the spring that they would comply, now only 40 percent said they would.

However, the number of Democrats supporting the restrictive measures still remains high, with 87 percent compared to 91 percent previously.

The poll finally concluded that most of the Americans, 82 percent,  feel more safe about being out in public than before.

This come as the US experts are constantly warning that the fatigue over COVID-19 could be dangerous as cases rise across the country.

The US set a record for coronavirus-related hospitalizations Tuesday, and has already passed 1 million new cases for the month of November.
