Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have held a sit-in rally in solidarity with a Palestinian man on a hunger strike since his arrest by Israeli military forces in late July.

As the Palestinian inmate Maher al-Akhras continues his hunger strike since July, Palestinians held a sit-in in the Gaza Strip to voice their support to him.

Human rights groups have shown serious concern about the health condition of the Palestinian inmate. Palestinian voice their support for Akhras in his battle against Israeli unfair polices.

Israeli regime is still refusing to free the Palestinian inmate and insists that Akhras must spend his current administrative detention in jail. However, Akhras has vowed not to end his hunger strike till his immediate release or transfer to a Palestinian hospital in the West Bank.

Maher, a 49-year-old Palestinian prisoner, is the father of six children. He was detained on July 27 and held under the administrative detention order with no charge.

Maher started a hunger strike against his detention orders in protest to the inhumane Israeli violations of Palestinians rights.

Following his one-hundred day hunger strike, Maher Akhras is going through a critical health condition in his attempts to seek justice. People here demand an urgent release of the Palestinian inmate to save his life.
