US dumping plastics in Africa

The American Chemistry Council recently lobbied the US government to use an upcoming US-Kenya free trade agreement to expand the plastics industry's footprint across Africa.

This edition of Africa Today is focusing on plans by the United States oil companies to impose plastic products on Kenya. Will this East African country cave in to American pressure?

And in the second part of our program we are highlighting on the opening of the permanent secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area. The African Union treaty establishing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) was signed by African Union Heads of State on 21 March 2018 in Kigali, Rwanda.The first commercial deal of this African Free Trade area will be taking off on January 1, 2021.
