Iran says fact-finding committee must be formed to investigate Mina tragedy

History will never forget the day on which hundreds of Muslims were suffocated or crushed during the annual Hajj Pilgrimage in Mecca back in 2015.

The Saudi government officially reported two days after the tragedy over 750 deaths and nearly 1000 injured.

Unfortunately, most of the victims were from the Islamic Republic of Iran; people whose families are still seeking a clear answer from the Saudi government.

On the anniversary of the Mina disaster, relatives and family members of the victims attended a ceremony in Tehran in which officials once again pledged to force Saudis for more investigations.

They also reiterated that the hidden aspects of the Mina tragedy must be revealed.

Nearly 470 Iranians were killed in the stampede caused by the Saudi’s incapability and mismanagement during the 2015 Hajj pilgrimage.

Earlier, Iran's Hajj Organization released a statement saying a fact-finding committee must be formed to investigate the tragic event, but so far the Saudi government has not published any report on the details of the incident.
