Iranian artist composes musical piece to sympathize with Lebanese

Music is a medium to express feelings. It can be used to express joy or sorrow and sometimes people use it to send a message to others. Iran’s National Orchestra has performed a piece to sympathize with the people of a friendly country.
A musical piece to empathize with the people of Lebanon over the tragic blast in Beirut in which scores of people lost their lives.
This work of art called “Restless for Belqis” was earlier performed by Iran’s National Orchestra amid health restrictions due to the spread of the coronavirus. However, a video clip to introduce this work of art was unveiled in Tehran’s Roudaki Hall in presence of some art lovers and cultural officials from both countries.
The piece was conducted by an artist from Lebanon who has come to Iran to show the strong cultural bond between Beirut and Tehran.
The explosion of an ammonium nitrate storage in Beirut on August 4 killed over 190 people and left about 6,500 injured. It also damaged 40 percent of the city leaving around 300,000 devastated.
The Lebanese have on different occasions expressed sympathy with Iran. After the massacre of Iranian pilgrims in Mecca in 1987 and the US shooting down of an Iranian airliner a year after, they expressed sorrow with Iranians through different ways.
