Another successful wide-scale operation has been scored by the Yemeni army and the Houthi Ansarullah fighters.

In his presser, the army spokesman Yahya Saree declared Tuesday night a major victory in the province of Bayda.

He said the army had recaptured 1,000 square meters, particularly in Bani Walid.

The recaptured areas, he added, had been controlled by the Daesh Takfiri terrorists and al-Qaeda.

Yemen’s operations will apparently continue, particularly in Hudaydah, following successes in Bayda, Jowf and Ma’rib.

In his statement to the UN Security Council on the situation in Hudaydah, the chief of the UN coordination and redeployment committee, retired Lieutenant General Abhijit Guha, expressed grave concern over the recent escalation in Hudaydah, particularly a Saudi airstrike on an oil facility in al-Urj on August 16.

Some say the Council’s addressing environmental impacts of Yemen’s floating oil tanker was a positive step, but the humanitarian crisis in Yemen is not of less significance in these circumstances where the Saudi-led campaign has left a trail of death and destruction in a sovereign state.
