F1: Lewis Hamilton wins Spanish Grand Prix

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has clinched the Spanish Grand Prix to take his 4th victory in 6 races so far this season.

The 6-time world champion had a strong start and kept the leading position as he crossed the line after 1 hour 31 minutes and 45 seconds to win his 5th Spanish Grand Prix at the circuit de Barcelona.

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen finished 2nd, 24 seconds behind the reigning champion while Valtteri Bottas, another Mercedes driver finished 3rd.

It was Hamilton's 88th career victory and he is now just 3 wins shy of Michael Schumacher's record. The result means Hamilton extends his championship lead after pocketing 132 points while Verstappen sits 2nd with 95 and Bottas is 3rd with 89 points. The next round is scheduled to take place in Belgium on the 30th of August.
