Leader extends condolences over Tehran deadly clinic blast

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei extends his condolences over a deadly explosion at a clinic in the capital Tehran, urging the relevant authorities to both closely examine the circumstances surrounding the blast and prevent recurrence of such incidents.

Ayatollah Khamenei condoled with the survivors on Wednesday, a day after an explosion and subsequent fire at the clinic killed 19 people and injured 14 others.

The Leader called the explosion “a very poignant” incident, praying for consolation of and divine mercy upon the families of the victims.

Ayatollah Khamenei urged expedient investigation of the incident.

The Leader also noted, “The responsible institutions should exhaust all efforts to prevent such harrowing incidents from taking place [in the future], and put the necessary precautions in place to alleviate the damages that have resulted from it.”

The blast was caused after suspected explosion of gas cylinders at the clinic known as Sina At-har.

Firefighters were rushed to the site, helping bring the fire under control in two hours with the help of modern equipment.
