Iranian movie “The Badger” has been selected to go on screen at China’s 23rd Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF).

“The Badger” — directed by Kazem Molayi — will be showcased in the 23rd SIFF in the Asian new Talent category as its international debut.

The movie tells the story of a woman named Soodeh, who faces a strange challenge just before her second marriage.

The 23rd SIFF, one of the largest film festivals in East Asia, was set to be held in June, but it was postponed to July 17-18.

The only section that will be showcased real time is the panorama section, while the execution of other divisions will depend on coronavirus restriction policies.

Additionally, due to travel bans and 14-day quarantine requirement, none of the jury members will be able to attend the event.
