French F1 set to be postponed

The French Grand Prix is set to be the next Formula 1 event to be postponed as a result of the coronavirus crisis.

The speculation comes after French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Monday that the restrictions on public events would continue until mid-July, which will affect the French round of the F1 championship, set to be held on the 28th of June.

F1 has yet to officially announce the news, but it seems impossible to hold the event, as it was attended by 135,000 people last year.

The race would be the 10th grand prix to be called-off this season.

F1 is facing a serious financial shortfall as five out of the seven UK-based teams have placed many of their staff on enforced leave because of the lack of racing.
