Champions League: Chelsea 0-3 Bayern Munich

Over football news, Bayern Munich have taken a big step towards the 2020 UEFA Champions League quarter-final after dismantling Chelsea 3-nil at Stamford Bridge.

After a deadlock in the first half, the Bundesliga Champions got on the scoresheet, when Serj Nabry tapped the ball into an empty net in the 51st minute. Only 3 minutes later, Nabry scored his brace with a clinical finish by Robert Lewandowski’s skillful pass to double the lead for the Bavarians.

Lewandowski completed Chelsea’s misery after tucking the ball home from close range with 14 minutes remaining. With the result, Chelsea's Champions League Campaign is surely over, but they will have to meet Bayern Munich again on the 18th of March. This time at the Allianz Arena.

Meanwhile, Barcelona grabbed an away goal as they came from behind to draw against Napoli in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie in Italy. Dries Mertens opened the scoring for the hosts with a brilliant curling effort from the edge of the box before halftime.

However, the Catalan giants got the equalizer through Antoine Griezmann, who fired the ball into the top corner before the hour mark. With the draw, Barca now have the upper hand for the 2nd leg as they will line up against the Italian Club at Camp Nou in March.
