In the German Bundesliga, Borussia Mönchengladbach have handed over the top spot to RB Leipzig, after suffering a 2-1 defeat at Wolfsburg.
The hosts took a 13th-minute lead through Xaver Schlager, but that did not last long as Breel Embolo converted a half-volley to restore parity within two minutes.
Nevertheless, Wolfsburg’s winner came deep in stoppage time when Maximilian Arnold latched onto a poor clearance to volley home from the edge of the box.
The result leaves Gladbach in second place, two points behind new leaders Leipzig.
