Reigning champions Bayern Munich have moved to the top of the Bundesliga after edging past Paderborn 3-2.

The Bavarians opened the scoring in the 14th minute, after Philippe Coutinho provided Serj Nabry with a lovely cross at the far post. Then it was 'the other way around', as Nabry squared the ball for Coutinho to double the lead for Bayern before the hour mark.

Kai Proger cut the deficit for the newly-promoted hosts in the 68th minute, before the seven-time defending champions made it 3-1 after Robert Lewandowski chipped the ball over the keeper with 11 minutes remaining.

Jamilu Collins pulled a goal back for Paderborn with a rocket shot from long distance in the 84th minute. But Bayern ran away with the three points and have now leapfrogged RB Leipzig to the top, who suffered their first loss of the season against Schalke.
