Creativity transforms suburb in South Africa into art destination

Westdene, a suburb of Johannesburg in South Africa, is fast turning into a little heaven as graffiti artists' playground, where the prominent artists are provided with clean walls by residents to produce their best works of art.

The area now boasts some of the most extensive collection of graffiti art in the country and the work is done under the umbrella of the Westdene Graffiti Project, a community project where residents donate their walls and the artists are given free reign regarding the concept of the art.

So far, over 50 works by significant artists have adorned the street walls of houses all over the suburb.
